Venofer

Venofer

Venofer is used in the treatment of iron deficiency anemia (IDA) in people with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Venofer is made of iron sucrose,  a mineral form of iron. Venofer works by providing your body with iron, which is crucial for the development of healthy red blood cells that are responsible for carrying oxygen throughout the body.

When people are diagnosed with CKD, it is common for them to become dependent on dialysis. Dialysis dependence usually results in people becoming anemic because it prevents the kidneys from producing enough of a hormone called erythropoietin and low levels of iron which are responsible for creating more blood cells.

Venofer helps restore healthy blood cells in patients and reverse anemia by providing the body iron to make more red blood cells.
