What is Leqvio?

Leqvio is used to lower bad cholesterol (LDL-C) in patients suffering from atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD).

When LDL-C builds up in the bloodstream, it will eventually lead to plaque forming in the arteries. When you are diagnosed with ASCVD, it is crucial that you lower your levels of LDL-C to prevent further plaque build-up and prevent complications like a heart attack or stroke.

Leqvio works by limiting the production of PCSK9, a protein that may increase the production LDL-C. By limiting the production of  PCSK9, Leqvio has been shown to help with levels of LDL-C.
